Photo guidelines
- White or light-coloured plain background
- Head and shoulders visible, looking straight at the camera
- Formal clothing (no sleeveless tops)
- Glasses are fine if your eyes are clearly visible
- Religious head coverings are allowed
- Sharp, well-lit photo with no shadows on the face

Passport guidelines
- Show the whole photo page, including the two lines of letters and numbers at the bottom (the MRZ)
- All text must be sharp and easy to read
- Take the photo straight on, not at an angle
- Avoid shadows, glare and reflections
- A scan or a phone photo on a dark, plain surface works well
